MEET ANDREW
Scottish Photographer & Guide.
Born and raised amidst the rolling hills of Ayrshire in southwest Scotland. I’ve been connected to the outdoors since childhood – exploring woodland, rivers, and open countryside.
These days, you’ll most likely find me traversing remote corners of the Scottish Highlands with a tent on my back and camera in hand, drawn to landscapes that feel wild, quiet, and stay with me long after I've left.
When I’m not working, I’m often in a cabin or off-grid hut with my partner Georgia, reading, cooking, and enjoying the slower pace of life.
All of this feeds into how I work. My photography is narrative-driven, rooted in a deep connection to place, and focused on honest, authentic imagery.

MY BACKGROUND
My love for Scotland’s landscapes and ever-changing weather has been the driving force behind a photography career spanning over a decade.
My background is rooted in outdoor, commercial and editorial photography. I’ve worked with brands including Talisker, Panasonic, VisitScotland, Airbnb and Columbia Sportswear, with my work also appearing in magazines and books. I’ve also partnered with Panasonic Lumix and led guided tours across the Isle of Skye and the West Highlands with Hidden Scotland.
My photography is shaped by the way I see these places – paying close attention to colour, light, atmosphere and the subtle changes in weather and landscape. I’m drawn to moody, earthy tones and photographs that feel considered without feeling overworked.
Beyond photography, I’m deeply connected to the places I work. I spend a lot of time exploring Scotland’s landscapes, hiking and camping. I know these environments not just as a photographer, but as someone who genuinely spends time in them.

More than a backdrop.
MY APPROACH
My approach has grown from working across editorial and commercial photography, with a strong influence from cinema. I think about a collection of photographs as a whole – not just individual images, but something with rhythm, movement, atmosphere and a sense of narrative.
I do direct, but gently. Sometimes that means suggesting a way to move or interact; other times it means stepping back and letting things unfold. I’m always looking for a balance between considered photographs and moments that happen naturally.
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. Some couples prefer a relaxed, hands-off experience, while others enjoy more direction, working from a moodboard or bringing ideas of their own. Some want to focus on their connection, while others are drawn towards movement, adventure, the landscape or the character of the place they’ve chosen.
The place itself can become a big part of the experience. If we’re somewhere wild, I want you to experience it rather than simply use it as a backdrop – feel the wind, hear the river, notice the birds and let the place sweep you away. Whether we’re on a remote hillside or at a beautiful venue, I want you to be present and enjoy being there.
I’ll bring my own eye and experience to the photographs, while leaving room for you to make it yours.
